"Huangshan's Couple" Taiping Lake — Anhui’s Purest Green Oasis

Taiping Lake is the largest artificial lake in Anhui, located between the two famous mountains, Huangshan and Jiuhua Mountain, and isknown as the "Huangshan Couple" and the "Jade of the South."The lake water remains crystal-clear and azure all year round, surrounded by undulating green mountains that create a delightful interplay of hills and waters. The scenic area currently features popular routes such as Deer Island, Monkey Island, Egret Islet, and Golden Island.

Located at the northern foot of Huangshan, Taiping Lake is formed by the natural mountain spring water from Huangshan and Jiuhua Mountain. Experts from the World Tourism Organization have called Taiping Lake "the purest green oasis on Earth." The water area spans 88.6 square kilometers, which is 17 times the size of Hangzhou’s West Lake. The lake water remains clear and azure all year round, with rolling green mountains along the shore, and islands and bays scattered across the lake. Its picturesque landscape rivals that of Huangshan.

Every October, local events are held in conjunction with China’s Huangshan International Tourism Festival. Local specialty products includeHuizhou pears, Santan loquats, Huangshan kiwifruit, She County kumquats, and Yi County torreya nuts.and so on.
