China Cordyceps Museum

The China Cordyceps Museum, invested and built by Zhejiang Pan-Asia Bio-Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in Pinghu City, covers a land area of 15,000 square meters and a construction area of 12,000 square meters, with a total investment of 10 million yuan. The museum integrates scientific research displays, public education, and experiential shopping related to cordyceps, and is currently the largest science-themed cordyceps museum in China funded by private capital.

The museum features six exhibition areas, including the Cordyceps Forest (simulated environment), Cordyceps Cellar, and Cordyceps World. It is a cordyceps museum themed around displaying cordyceps specimens, recreating their natural growing environments, and promoting cordyceps knowledge. Here, approximately 500 types of cordyceps discovered worldwide are exhibited, including Caterpillar Fungus (Cordyceps sinensis), Cordyceps cicadae, Cordyceps militaris, Ant Cordyceps, Beetle Cordyceps, and more. It is currently the world’s only museum with the most comprehensive variety and largest scale of cordyceps exhibits.

The Cordyceps Museum showcases the research achievements of Chinese and foreign scientists—including mycologists, medical experts, and pharmacologists—since 1900, along with academic literature, monographs, and applications in medicine, health preservation, beauty, and biological pest control.

The China Cordyceps Museum was initiated by Pan-Asia Bio-Pharmaceutical Group and jointly organized by the China Cordyceps Industry Innovation Technology Strategic Alliance, China Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Exchange Center, and Zhejiang Pan-Asia Bio-Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. It has received strong support from institutions such as the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences (Edible Fungi Research Institute), Guangdong Institute of Microbiology, Sanjiangyuan Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai, Biochemical Engineering Center of Guizhou University, Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Kidney Rehabilitation Medical Professional Committee, and the People's Government of Lanping County in Yunnan. It is a high-tech biopharmaceutical enterprise primarily engaged in the R&D, production, and sales of medicinal entomogenous fungi. The museum boasts advanced bioengineering laboratories, a leading domestic resource bank of entomogenous fungal strains, and an outstanding team of scientists and management professionals.

The inaugural director of the China Cordyceps Museum is Professor Li Zengzhi, an internationally renowned mycologist. The deputy directors are Professor Fan Meizhen, Deputy Director of the Entomogenous Fungi Research Center at the Mycological Society of China and Vice President of Zhejiang Academy of Life Sciences, and Tan Youjiu, Deputy Chief Engineer of Zhejiang Pan-Asia Bio-Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. The museum’s scientific advisory team includes top domestic and international academicians and experts in the field, forming a “dream team” of scientists in the global cordyceps community.
