Waibu Mountain
Waibu Mountain is the largest island near Jiulong Mountain. It boasts a serene natural environment, moist climate, and mild temperatures that are warm in winter and cool in summer, making it pleasant all year round. Its unique coastal erosion landforms, such as sea notches, add to its distinctive landscape.
Especially in the southern part, shaped by centuries of wave action, there are many stunning natural sights, including steep eroded cliffs that inspire awe when viewed from above. The mountain also features Wentao Pavilion, which commemorates Master Hongyi, and the Little Putuo Zen Temple. Inside the temple, there are Guanyin statues brought from Japan and China’s four major Buddhist mountains.
