Zhapu Fort
Zhapu Fort is a Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
Zhapu Fort, a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit, currently consists of the Nanwan Fort and Tianfei Palace Fort. The Nanwan Fort is located in a valley between Dengguang Mountain and Xichang Mountain, about 1 kilometer southeast of Zhapu Town. According to the Republican-era *Supplementary Annals of Pinghu County*, it was built after the First Sino-Japanese War, specifically in the 22nd year of the Guangxu reign (1896). The fort faces south toward the sea. Two southeast-facing artillery batteries remain, covering an area of 207 square meters, with remaining heights of 4.15 meters and 4.45 meters respectively.
In May 2013, the State Council (State Council Document [2013] No. 13) designated Zhapu Fort as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
