The Xinpei Sister Bridges are a Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Xinpei Sister Bridges are located in Xinpei Town, Pinghu City, and date back to the Qing Dynasty.

The Qingyun Bridge, commonly known as the “South Gate Bridge,” is located on Zhongda Street in the Xinpei Community of Xinpei Town, while the Taiping Bridge, commonly called the “North Gate Bridge,” is located at Luobeigang in the Xinpei Community. They were likely built between the 10th year (1745) and the 44th year (1779) of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty. The two bridges stand opposite each other to the north and south and are referred to as the “Sister Bridges” by locals. On January 13, 2017, the Taiping Bridge and Qingyun Bridge were designated as provincial-level cultural relics protection units by the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province.

Xinpei Town: Located in the northern part of Zhejiang Province, Xinpei Town lies on the Hangjiahu Plain, at the forefront of the Yangtze River Delta, on the northern shore of Hangzhou Bay. It serves as the “northern gateway” to Pinghu City. To the northeast, it borders Jinshan District of Shanghai, to the west it neighbors Jiashan County, and to the south it faces the major port of Zhapu. It is close to the under-construction Hangzhou Bay Cross-sea Bridge and just a stone’s throw from the international metropolis of Shanghai. With convenient transportation and a superior geographical location, it is a small coastal town with great development potential.
