The former site of the Hai Bei Detachment of the New Fourth Army is a cultural relic protection unit of Haiyan County and a classic red tourism destination.
The former site of the Hai Bei Detachment of the New Fourth Army is located atop Nanmu Mountain in Nanhu Village, within the Nanbei Lake Scenic Area. Dating back to 1944, it is categorized as a modern historical site.
On May 22, 2000, the former site of the Hai Bei Detachment of the New Fourth Army was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Haiyan County.
Nanbei Lake Village: Formed by the merger of the former Nanhu and Beihu villages, Nanbei Lake Village is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the sea on one. It lies within the same region as the provincial-level scenic attraction, the Nanbei Lake Scenic Area. Covering a total area of 10.8 square kilometers with a population of 2,745, including 116 Party members, the village was listed as a county-level ecological village in 2001, a municipal-level ecological village in 2003, a “Ten Hundred Project” renovation village in 2004, a “Five-Good Party Branch” and a provincial model village for agritainment in 2005, and a provincial model village for building a well-off society, a municipal-level greening demonstration village, and a provincial greening demonstration village in 2006.
