The Fengqiao Port Site
The Fengqiao Port Site is a cultural relic protection unit of Haining City.
The Fengqiao Port Site is located in Jinci Village, Hutang, Maqiao Subdistrict. It dates back to the Liangzhu Culture of the Neolithic Age and is classified as an ancient site.
On August 17, 1989, the Fengqiao Port Site was designated as a cultural relic protection unit of Haining City.
Maqiao Subdistrict: Known as the “Famous Warp Knitting Town of China,” Maqiao Subdistrict in Haining City lies 60 kilometers west of downtown Hangzhou, 100 kilometers east of downtown Shanghai, and 7 kilometers south of the northern shore of Hangzhou Bay. It is the largest warp knitting manufacturing base in the Yangtze River Delta region. The subdistrict administers eight administrative villages and 191 villager groups, with a total population of 27,365.
In 2004, the subdistrict achieved a gross domestic product of 1.007 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 22.8%; the per capita net income of farmers was 6,967 yuan, up 11.8% year-on-year; and available fiscal funds reached 25.9874 million yuan...
