Xiashi Subdistrict: Situated on the Hangjiahu Plain, Xiashi Subdistrict was historically known as Xiashi. The name was changed to Xiashi during the Tang Dynasty due to the presence of two mountains, one to the east and one to the west. In the sixth year of the Yonghui era of the Song Dynasty (655), Xiashi Town was established; in the eleventh year of the Kaiyuan era (723), Xiashi Market was set up. It was re-established as Xiashi Town during the Huichang era (841–844), and in the fourth year of the Jianyan era of the Southern Song Dynasty (1130), Xiashi Stockade was created. The area has long been known for its strong academic tradition, simple folk customs, and numerous notable figures. It features cultural sites such as the former residences of Xu Zhimo and Zhang Zongxiang, as well as the Qian Juntao Art Research Museum. Xiashi lanterns are also widely renowned.

The subdistrict borders Yuanhua Town and Baibu Town of Haiyan County to the east, connects to Maqiao Subdistrict to the south, and lies to the west… More detailed information about Xiashi Subdistrict ++
