The Chen Family Residence
The Chen Family Residence is a Haining Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
The Chen Family Residence is located at No. 41 Dongjie, Chang’an Town. Built during the Republican era, it is categorized as a modern historical site and representative architecture.
On August 11, 2010, the Chen Family Residence was designated as a Haining Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit.
Chang’an Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Haining City. In 1958, the Chang’an People’s Commune was established, which was restructured as a county-administered town in 1961. In 1992, Chang’an Township was merged into the town. It covers an area of 43.1 square kilometers with a population of 52,000. The Shanghai-Hangzhou Railway runs through the town. The town administers 16 village committees: Chushi, Dongchen, Yancang, Luer, Tianming, Hongjin, Xinmin, Shucai Village, Laozhuang, Dongguan, Wandu, Weiguo, Xiaowang, Jinqiao, Mugang, and Yunmin. The local industries mainly produce white raw silk, machinery, electric fans, copper and iron padlocks, leather garments, and metal rolling products.
