Blessed Teresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church is located at No. 35 Xinjiang Road, Chang’an Town, and dates back to the Republican era. It is classified as an important modern historical site and representative building.
On August 11, 2010, Blessed Teresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church was designated as a cultural relics protection unit of Haining City.
Chang’an Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Haining City. The Chang’an Commune was established in 1958, became a county-level town in 1961, and merged with Chang’an Township in 1992. It covers an area of 43.1 square kilometers and has a population of 52,000. The Shanghai-Hangzhou Railway runs through the town. The town administers 16 village committees: Chushi, Dongchen, Yancang, Lu’er, Tianming, Hongjin, Xinmin, Vegetable Village, Laozhuang, Dongguan, Wando, Weiguo, Xiaowang, Jinqiao, Mugang, and Fishermen. The main industries include the production of white raw silk, machinery, electric fans, copper and iron padlocks, leather clothing, and metal rolling.
