Xiadu Bridge is located 50 meters north of Xishan Bridge in Xieshi Subdistrict. Dating back to the Qing Dynasty, it is categorized as an ancient architectural structure.

On August 11, 2010, Xiadu Bridge was designated as a Haining Municipal Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Xieshi Subdistrict: Situated on the Hangjiahu Plain, Xieshi Subdistrict was historically known as Xiashi. The name was changed to Xieshi during the Tang Dynasty due to the presence of two mountains, one to the east and one to the west. In the sixth year of the Yonghui era of the Song Dynasty (655), Xieshi Town was established; in the eleventh year of the Kaiyuan era (723), Xieshi Market was set up. It was re-established as Xieshi Town during the Huichang era (841–844) and became Xieshi Stockade in the fourth year of the Jianyan era of the Southern Song Dynasty (1130). The area has long been known for its strong academic tradition, simple and honest folk customs, and a wealth of notable figures. It is home to cultural sites such as the former residences of Xu Zhimo and Zhang Zongxiang, as well as the Qian Juntao Art Research Museum. Xieshi lanterns are also famous far and wide.
