Xieshi Subdistrict: Situated on the Hangjiahu Plain, Xieshi Subdistrict got its name from the two mountains—East and West Mountains—within its borders. As early as the Tang Dynasty, the area was renamed from Xiasi to Xieshi. In the sixth year of the Yonghui era of the Song Dynasty (655), Xieshi Town was established; in the eleventh year of the Kaiyuan era (723), Xieshi Market was set up; during the Huichang period (841–844), Xieshi Town was reinstated; and in the fourth year of the Jianyan era of the Southern Song Dynasty (1130), Xieshi Stockade was established. Known since ancient times for its scholarly traditions, simple folkways, and numerous notable figures, the district boasts cultural landmarks such as the former residences of Xu Zhimo and Zhang Zongxiang, as well as the Qian Juntao Art Research Museum. Xieshi lanterns are also renowned far and wide.

The subdistrict is bordered by Yuanhua Town and Baibu Town of Haiyan County to the east, adjacent to Maqiao Subdistrict to the south, and to the west... More detailed information about Xieshi Subdistrict ++
