The block gathers distinctive attractions such as Jiahe Water Post, Dragon Boat Festival Folk Culture Experience Hall, Zongzi Culture Museum, and Yusuifeng Rice Store. It also features leisure venues including shadow puppet theaters, pingtan storytelling houses, flower and bird markets, and antiques markets. It is the largest, most completely preserved, and most representative historical block in downtown Jiaxing that showcases the characteristics of a southern water town city. Yuehe Street is centered around Zhongji Road and was created through the renovation of the old block. It is said that the project was overseen by the management of Xizha, which is why its current style resembles that of Xizha.

For over 1,700 years, the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal has run just south of the Yuehe Historical Block. The canal banks are lined with countless lights, with official boats and merchant vessels coming and going non-stop, presenting a scene of thriving commerce. As a historically renowned and bustling prefectural city in Jiaxing, the Yuehe Historical Block has thus become a rare golden investment spot in the urban area.

The Yuehe Block is based on a fundamental layout of three parallel “rivers and three streets.” The “Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal,” “Outer Yuehe,” and “Inner Yuehe” rivers run mostly parallel and converge near Beili Bridge, featuring a highly distinctive spatial layout. The “Zhongji Road (historically called Middle Street),” “Tan Lane,” and “Xiushuidou Street” became bustling commercial areas due to their proximity to the canal and the prefectural city. In the past, the two sides of the former “Middle Street (Zhongji Road)” were lined with shops and bustling with merchants.

The Yuehe Historical Block is a key investment project of the Jiaxing Municipal Government, covering a total area of approximately 90,000 square meters, with plans to renovate about 88,000 square meters of traditional residential buildings, and a total investment of around 400 million yuan. The project benefits from a prime commercial location, excellent transportation access, and strong support from relevant government policies, giving businesses stationed here a competitive edge in the market. The project integrates entertainment, shopping, leisure, dining, and tourism, offering greater advantages compared to other commercial projects, and is set to ignite boundless business opportunities. Favorable timing is not as good as a good location, and a good location is not as good as harmony among people. The Yuehe Historical Block combines favorable timing, a prime location, and unity among people, integrating these three strengths to create a new landscape for Jiaxing’s commercial district.
