● Hehuan Mountain North Peak

At an elevation of 3,422 meters, the Hehuan Mountain North Peak trail stretches 2,387 meters in total, making it a relatively beginner-friendly high-mountain camping option. It features the “Stream Campsite,” often referred to by hikers as a dream campsite, where you can pitch a tent overnight. The site offers pleasant views, including expansive alpine grasslands and distant vistas of the Qilai Mountains. Especially magical are the star-filled skies at night.

● Yilan Songluo Lake

The beautiful Songluo Lake, although located in Wulai District, New Taipei City, is most commonly accessed from Songluo Village in Datong Township, Yilan. The dreamy Songluo Lake is often shrouded in a thin mist resembling a veil, resembling a shy maiden — hence its nickname, “The Lake of the Seventeen-Year-Old Girl.”

● Bamboo Forest  Xiakelo Ancient Trail

Autumn is a great time to camp on the Xiakelo Ancient Trail. The trail features several excellent maple viewing spots, where the mountains are ablaze with crimson foliage, creating a poetic and dreamlike atmosphere. In addition to its natural beauty, the trail also offers a glimpse into history with numerous architectural remnants from the Japanese colonial period, such as gun emplacements and police stations.

● Lugu Thousand-People Cave

Thousand-People Cave is Taiwan’s largest natural rock cave, stretching 250 meters in length and up to 60 meters in width. The massive rock cliffs curve around three sides like outstretched arms, providing shade and shelter to create a comfortable space. Outside the cave, there’s also a stunning natural waterfall.
