Miaoli County held a series of cycling events under the theme of "Building a Sports & Wellness Island." The third event, a coming-of-age cycling activity titled “Ride Together – Big Hands Holding Small Hands to Conquer 100K,” took place at 6:00 AM on the 12th at the County Stadium, with nearly 2,000 cyclists participating. County Magistrate Liu Cheng-hung encouraged everyone to ride for health, ride for joy, engage in sports together, and fully enjoy Miaoli’s fresh air and beautiful scenery.
Yesterday’s cycling event was divided into a Wellness Group and a Family Group. The Wellness Group route was longer, spanning approximately 100 kilometers. The cycling route started from the stadium, turned right onto Guojing Road, crossed the Xindong Bridge, followed the mountain road, then proceeded along Provincial Highway 6, Provincial Highway 3, Miaoli County Route 52, and Provincial Highway 13 before turning back at Lantian Elementary School. The Family Group only cycled half the distance, turning back at Nanhu Elementary School.
The county government stated that this series of cycling events to build a Sports & Wellness Island will continue with the fourth event, “Exploring the Mountain Town’s Southern Skies at Tian’gou Tribe,” on October 3, and the fifth event, “Dayuling Snow View Recreation Area Activity,” on November 7. Cyclists are welcome to join in and experience the mountain and coastal beauty of Miaoli.
