Jiaxing People's Park

Jiaxing People's Park is a recreational park built in 1959 on the site of the former railway nursery. Located opposite the square of Jiaxing Railway Station, the park features a large lawn, Sino-Japanese Friendship Tree, lotus pond, earthen hill, osmanthus grove, and a children’s playground. The park is planted with over a hundred varieties of flowers and trees, along with thousands of shrubs and trees. In spring and summer, the flora is lush and green, while in autumn and winter, osmanthus blooms fill the air with fragrance and plum groves offer a serene, sparse beauty.

The Sino-Japanese Friendship Tree in the park is an intertwined specimen of camphor trees—both cities' official trees—planted on May 13, 1990, to commemorate the first anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Jiaxing and Fuji City in Japan. The park also includes an osmanthus grove, a bonsai garden, and a scenic garden. The Xinhai Revolution Memorial Tower at the main entrance of the park honors Jiaxing martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Xinhai Revolution. In the northwest corner, the amusement area offers rides such as bumper cars, paddle boats, and go-karts for children.
