Jiaxing Art Museum (Jiaxing Puhua Art Museum & Jiaxing Painting Academy) is located at No. 28 Zhonghe Street, Jiaxing City, covering an area of 3.72 mu with a construction area of 1,956 square meters. It features a courtyard layout in the architectural style of the Republican era. The museum was completed and opened to the public on December 28, 2000, initially established as the Puhua Art Museum (Jiaxing Painting Academy). In 2008, it additionally adopted the name Jiaxing Art Museum, with the full official title being Jiaxing Art Museum (Jiaxing Puhua Art Museum & Jiaxing Painting Academy). The museum houses the “Pu Zuoying Memorial Room” and the “Yue Shichen Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition Room.” It includes two permanent exhibition halls, one temporary exhibition hall, one multi-functional hall, and one comprehensive conference hall.

Jiaxing Art Museum (Jiaxing Puhua Art Museum & Jiaxing Painting Academy) is a non-profit cultural institution under the Jiaxing Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication. It serves as a specialized art organization integrating exhibitions, research, creation, collection, exchange, training, and comic education. Currently, the three titles share one administrative team, and the institution is classified as a public welfare Category I public institution, with an authorized staffing of 8 personnel. The current director (academy president) is Ling Jiachun, and the deputy director (academy vice president) is Zhong Zhongxiao.

Jiaxing Art Museum (Jiaxing Puhua Art Museum & Jiaxing Painting Academy) hosts over 30 various art exhibitions annually. Since 2001, it has successively organized the 1st to 4th “Red Boat Ode” National Invitational Exhibition of Works by Renowned Artists, jointly hosted by the China Artists Association and the Jiaxing Municipal People’s Government, as well as the 1st to 7th China•Jiaxing International Comic Biennale. In 2012, the China Artists Association designated Jiaxing City as the “China Comic Creation Base.” In 2013, Jiaxing Art Museum became a “Friendly International Cultural Exchange Museum” with the Gabrovo Cartoon Gallery in Bulgaria. In 2014, Jiaxing Art Museum was fully responsible for organizing the Comprehensive Painting and Animation Section of the 12th National Art Exhibition.
