Jiaxing Hotel’s Western-Style Villa is a protected cultural heritage site of Jiaxing City.

Jiaxing Hotel’s Western-Style Villa is located within Jiaxing Hotel at Baifu Lane Community, Jianshe Subdistrict, Zhongshan Road, Nanhu District, Jiaxing City. Commonly known as “Guest Garden,” it was built in the 1950s. It once hosted notable figures such as Dong Biwu and Lin Biao during their stays in Jiaxing, later served as offices for the municipal government and the Foreign Affairs Office, and has now been repurposed as a restaurant. The villa faces south with a northern orientation and is constructed with a brick-and-wood structure. It is a two-story building with seven bays, covering a land area of 315 square meters, with an overall width of 30 meters and depth of 10.5 meters. All four sides are fitted with square windows and doors, and the eaves reach a height of 10.5 meters, below which runs a plaster sculpture of doves symbolizing peace. The roof is of the hanging gable style, covered with red western-style tiles, while the walls are built with blue bricks. The interior has been refurbished. Jiaxing Hotel’s Western-Style Villa is a typical example of Sino-Western architectural fusion. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it housed important historical figures and served as office space for key local institutions, making it of significant historical, scientific, and artistic value for the study of Jiaxing’s modern history, culture, and architecture. It was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage site of Jiaxing in 2010.
