Mu's Western-style House is located at No. 508 Huancheng East Road, Chengdong Community, Jianshe Subdistrict, Nanhu District, Jiaxing City, bordering Haoh River to the south. In the early years of the Republic of China, it was built by Shanghai-born businessman Mu Shuzai and earned the name "Four Plum Residence" due to the four plum trees of different colors planted in front of the house. After the Japanese occupied Jiaxing in 1937, the house was taken over by the Japanese. In the early post-war period, it was requisitioned by the Nationalist army. Between 1947 and 1964, it served as the Jiaxing County Post Office, and in 2001, it was converted into the Jiaxing Postal and Telecommunications Museum. The building is a three-story structure facing south, built with a brick-concrete structure, covering an area of 127 square meters, with a total width of 11.8 meters and a depth of 10.8 meters. The walls are constructed from red bricks, and square windows are found on all sides. Each floor has a balcony facing south, and the decorative elements feature Western-style designs. The roof is of the hanging gable type, covered with red imported tiles. The surrounding area includes a courtyard planted with flowers and trees. Mu's Western-style House is a typical example of modern Western-style architecture and also functioned as a postal facility in the modern era.
