Chujia Bridge

Chujia Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Jiaxing City.

Chujia Bridge is located on Guangming Street, Hangming Community, Jiefang Subdistrict, Nanhu District, Jiaxing City. Constructed in the 22nd year of the Republic of China (1933), it spans east-west over Chujia Shoal. The bridge is built with a combination of cement and stone, has a total length of 15.23 meters, a width of 3.9 meters, and the bridge deck is 3 meters above the water surface. The eastern and western piers are built from stone, while the bridge and deck are made of poured cement, featuring cement railings. The railing posts are square-shaped, and there are two cement lamp posts standing on the central railing of the bridge deck. In 1989, a new bridge was built to the east of the old one, after which this bridge gradually fell into disuse. Chujia Bridge features a simple design and a distinctive style, embodying typical characteristics of the Republican era. It provides valuable physical material for the study of modern bridge architecture in Jiaxing, and holds significant historical and artistic value. In 2010, it was designated as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit of Jiaxing City.
