Buyun Site
The Buyun Site is a cultural heritage conservation unit of Jiaxing City.
The Buyun Site is located in Huayuan Community, Huayuan Village, Daqiao Town, Nanhu District, Jiaxing City. It was originally roughly square in shape, covering an area of approximately 4,700 square meters. Currently, the land within the site is occupied by a nursing home, plastic factories, and hat and clothing factories, making the original topography and landforms unrecognizable. According to previous survey records, the site had a relatively wide distribution, measuring about 60 meters from east to west and 30 meters from north to south, with the original cultural layer being around 40 centimeters thick. Stone axes with holes and various pottery shards were unearthed here, which are artifacts from the Liangzhu Culture of the Neolithic Age. Artifacts from the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods such as stamped-pattern pottery, stone axes, and stone knives have also been found. Due to severe environmental damage, no clear cultural layers can be identified at present. The site is of considerable size, has a long duration of use, and holds high historical and scientific value. It was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage conservation unit of Jiaxing City in 1981.
