Yaojia Village Site
The Yaojia Village Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Jiaxing City.
The Yaojia Village Site is located in the natural village of Yaojia, Minfeng Village, Xinfeng Town, Nanhu District, Jiaxing City. It was discovered during the second national cultural relics survey. The site features a relatively prominent high mound, surrounded by paddy fields and residential areas, covering an area of 33,000 square meters. At the end of 2008, due to the construction of the Yuyun Highway, the Zhejiang Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology conducted a rescue excavation, unearthing a small number of Liangzhu culture artifacts, as well as a large number of Maqiao culture pottery pieces and a small number of bronze ware items. This confirms that the site was a settlement from the Neolithic Liangzhu culture period to the Maqiao culture period. The site covers a large area, has a long duration of use, and yielded a rich variety of cultural relics, demonstrating significant historical and scientific value. It was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage protection unit of Jiaxing City in 1992.
