Lujiafen Site

The Lujiafen Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Jiaxing City.

The Lujiafen Site is located in Taxi Group, Henggang Village, Xinfeng Town, Nanhu District, Jiaxing City. It is surrounded by rivers on the east, west, and south sides, covering an area of 37,500 square meters. The high mound is about 3 meters tall and represents a settlement site dating from the Liangzhu Culture of the Neolithic Age to the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. Rescue excavations have been carried out, including the digging of two exploration trenches, revealing a cultural layer divided into upper and lower strata, with a large number of pottery shards unearthed, as well as a small quantity of bronze artifacts. The site was looted in 2008, prompting villagers to report the incident to the Xinfeng Police Station. This site is large in scale, has a long duration of use, and holds significant historical and scientific value. It was designated as a municipal-level cultural heritage protection unit of Jiaxing in 1981.

Henggang Village: Henggang Village is located just south of Xinfeng Town and adjacent to the town center. To the east is Pinghu, and both the old and new Yanfeng Roads, as well as the old and new Provincial Highway 07, run through the village. To the north lies the Jiaoping Pond, providing very convenient water and land transportation. The village has a total of 1,138 households and a population of 4,174, including 150 Party members, and is divided into 13 production groups (comprising 41 natural villages). The total area of the village is 5.83 square kilometers, with cultivated land covering 4,773 mu.
