Dongbai Lake

Originally named Chencai Reservoir, Dongbai Lake is a key water conservancy project in Zhejiang Province. The lake covers an area of 4 square kilometers, with its deepest point reaching 94 meters. Surrounded by verdant peaks and lush forests that appear almost dripping with greenery, the mountains, waters, and skies are all as clear and pristine as a mirror, making the entire scenic area look as if adorned with fine jade. Beneath the Dongbai Lake Dam lies the Dongbai Mountain Villa, an elegantly structured three-story building nestled among green trees, with complete facilities and attentive service.

“Boating on the Lake” is a renowned activity at Dongbai Lake. As small boats glide across the water, dozens of peaks emerge like spiral curls from the surface. Peaks such as “Golden Plate,” “Jade Cup,” “Swan,” and “White Phoenix” bear striking resemblances to their namesakes, appearing vivid and graceful. With the gentle creaking of oars, the boat winds through ten bends and nine inlets, turning amidst the peaks and shifting scenery. A cool breeze drifts across the lake, filling one’s lungs with fresh, invigorating air and washing away the dust and stress of everyday life. The second highlight is “Roaring Dragon and Drumming Banner.” The first stop along the boat route is the Roaring Heavenly Dragon Ridge. Upon ascending to the ridge top, you’ll find the Five Elders Peaks and the Desk Peak standing respectfully before you, while Drum Mountain and Banner Mountain flank your sides, as if battle flags are fluttering and war drums thundering—creating a grand and awe-inspiring scene that fills the visitor's heart.
