Baita Lake National Wetland Park

Baita Lake National Wetland Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a national wetland park.

Zhejiang Zhuji Baita Lake National Wetland Park is located in the northern part of Zhuji City, Zhejiang Province, bordering Xiaoshan District of Hangzhou to the north and Shaoxing to the east. It is one of the relatively well-preserved wetlands in the Qiantang River basin.[1]

Zhejiang Zhuji Baita Lake National Wetland Park is the largest lake field and ecological wetland in Zhuji City, serving as an important ecological barrier in the northern part of the city. It is often praised as "Zhuji's Baita Lake, the Small Dongting Lake of Central Zhejiang."[2]

Zhejiang Zhuji Baita Lake National Wetland Park is a base for ecological culture and science photography in Zhejiang Province, a third batch “Ecological Civilization Education Base” in the province, and also serves as a “China Academy of Art Creation Base,” “Zhejiang Tourism Vocational School Internship Base,” “Charity Federation Lexing Lexiang Volunteer Service Base,” and “Zhejiang Ecological Culture Base.” In September 2014, Baita Lake Wetland Park was rated as a AAA-level scenic area.

The main attractions within Zhejiang Zhuji Baita Lake National Wetland Park are its themed islands: Peach Blossom Island, Crape Myrtle Island, Hibiscus Island, Lavender Island, Aquatic Plant Display Island, Love Island, Reed Marsh, Tower Lake Egret Shadows, and Egret Bird Reserve, among others.

Peach Blossom Island

Peach Blossom Island in Baita Lake covers an area of 76 mu, with over 2,600 peach trees planted. These include 15 varieties such as Red Leaf Peach, Green Leaf Peach, Original Peach, Honey Peach, White Peach, Red Weeping Peach, White Weeping Peach, Dragon Pillar Peach, Erqiao Peach, White Longevity Peach, Red Longevity Peach, Balsam Peach, Chrysanthemum Peach, Mid-season Nectarine, and Late-season Nectarine. In addition to various colors of peach blossoms, the island also features lotus flowers, over 5,000 crape myrtles, as well as a variety of flowering shrubs including Herbaceous Peony, Tulip, Sunflower, Lycoris, Petunia, Large-flowered Daylily, Gynura Segetum, Vinca, and Thalia.

Aquatic Plant Island

Aquatic Plant Island has 451 potted lotus plants, comprising a total of 198 varieties.

Herb Island

Herb Island features French lavenders, featherleaf lavender, sage, rosemary, tulips, verbena, mint, and other plants. From March to June each year, French lavender blooms, while from July to August, ornamental flowers such as osmanthus, lilies, and amaryllis can be seen. The island is home to over 3,000 lily plants, including major varieties such as Siberian Lily, Perfume Lily, Tiger Lily, and Asian Lily Orange Triumph.[7]

Rose Island

As of April 2014, Rose Island had planted 10,000 rose seedlings.

Qingtang Pian Island

As of April 2014, Qingtang Pian Island had planted 500 metasequoia tree seedlings.
