Yuchanghao Folk Art Museum

Yuchanghao Folk Art Museum is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Yuchanghao was first established during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, originally located in the ancient Jiangnan town of Fengqiao. Its founder was Luo Gong Chenglin. In order to revive their ancestral business and preserve the ancient culture of the Yue region, the descendants of Luo Gong made unremitting efforts over several decades. They collected a vast collection of over ten thousand pieces of artifacts, including Ming and Qing dynasty furniture, traditional bridal dowries, plaques and calligraphy paintings, Yue embroidery and silverware, bamboo and metal crafts, as well as various wood carvings, stone carvings, brick carvings, and bronze ornaments. These collections fully showcase the outstanding cultural heritage of the ancient Yue land, reflecting the remarkable wisdom and skill of folk artisans. They vividly present the grand and exquisite style of Zhuji-style furniture and crafts, becoming highlights at multiple West Lake Expos.

Since ancient times, Zhuji has enjoyed a rich literary tradition, producing many notable figures and skilled craftsmen. However, due to historical reasons and a waning sense of preservation, the precious heritage of the past is gradually disappearing and being lost. The purpose of establishing this museum is to awaken people’s sense of national pride, so that they may cherish and protect it.

Currently, the Yuchanghao Folk Art Museum in Sizhai Village, Dongbai Lake, is open to the public. Friends who are interested in folk collections and traditional culture are welcome to visit and appreciate.
