New Sheng Ancient Architectural Complex
The New Sheng Ancient Architectural Complex is a protected cultural heritage site of Zhejiang Province.
The New Sheng Ancient Architectural Complex is located in Jiating Town, Zhuji City, dating back to the Qing Dynasty.
The local-style buildings of New Sheng Township in Jiating Town (including Qianxinwu and Taihetang) were built during the Qing Dynasty. They are relatively large in scale, well-preserved in structure, and logically laid out, making them representative among regional architecture.
The layout of Qianxinwu, part of the New Sheng local-style buildings, features a clear spatial plan. Its unique architectural style not only provides effective defensive functions but also reflects the communal living patterns of clan settlements.
Taihetang was the ancestral home of Fu Xiaoyuan, a renowned cultural figure of the Qing Dynasty. It houses stone inscriptions and calligraphic works such as “Plum Ridge Teaching Sons Picture” and “Shoumei Mountain Cottage,” handwritten by Yu Yue, a famous Confucian scholar of the Qing Dynasty. These elements give it profound historical and cultural significance and considerable value as a cultural relic, offering high historical, cultural, and educational worth.
On January 13, 2017, it was designated as part of the Seventh Batch of Protected Cultural Heritage Sites of Zhejiang Province by the People's Government of Zhejiang Province.
