Shili Qianxi Scenic Area

Located 5 kilometers west of the county town. The entire area spans over 10 li, featuring predominantly natural landscapes with an elegant environment. Cascading streams, bizarre rocks, and a blend of peaks, valleys, caves, waterfalls, cliffs, and lakes create a picturesque scene.

Qianxi, originally named Qianxi, originates from Ma'anshan Mountain, flows through Yangkeng and Yu'ao, and joins the Xinchang River after converging with the Sanxi Stream.

The Qianxi area, particularly the section from Yu'ao to Dingcun, boasts the most stunning scenery. The stream disappears beneath piles of rocks, surging through crevices. A beach of massive boulders and steep cliffs on both sides create a thunderous echo of wind and water. The riverside is dotted with uniquely shaped rocks, forming a fantastical realm that integrates peaks, valleys, caves, and waterfalls, all naturally wild. Highlights along the way include “Ten Thousand Pines and Sky Candles,” “Seven-Plate Pit,” “Screen Rock,” “Wall-Facing Rock,” “Jade Rabbit Rock,” “Nine Turtles Coming Ashore,” “Raccoon Listening to Sound,” and “Camel Back Monkey”—all vivid examples of the dynamic interplay between water and stone, leaving visitors in awe.

Introduction to Major Attractions:

On the road between “Jade Rabbit Rock” and “Turtles Emerging from the Sea,” one side features peaks and rocky forests. Among them lies a massive ten-thousand-ton boulder resembling a “lion opening its mouth.” Standing beneath this Lion Rock and listening quietly, you can hear the distinct sound of ocean waves. However, the moment you step away from the ground, the sound abruptly stops—an astonishing phenomenon. Hence, the flat cliff wall beneath the Lion Rock is named “Tide Sound Wall.”

Above the Lion Rock, there is a peculiar rock shaped like a raccoon, dubbed “Raccoon Listening to Sound.”

On the mountainside along the Qianxi banks, hidden within dense pine forests, stands a towering stone pillar reaching the sky, likened to a jade column ascending heavenward, known as “Sky Candle of Ten Thousand Pines.”
