Heavenly Candle Lake is a newly developed scenic spot in Xinchang County, located at the foot of Tianzhu Ridge along the Ten-Mile Hidden Stream, about 7 kilometers from the county town. At the valley between Grasshopper Head Mountain and Xiaotianlong Mountain at the base of Tianzhu Ridge, a 73-meter-long and 26-meter-high reservoir dam collects water from the mountain stream to form a lake — Heavenly Candle Lake. Stretching over 3 kilometers in length, the lake varies in width from several hundred meters to just a few meters, winding its way through the secluded valley. The water is crystal clear with gentle waves. Visitors can take dragon boats or speedboats to admire the rustic power station and the majestic dam, as well as enjoy the scenic views along the lake. The surrounding mountains are not high but layered and well arranged; the trees are lush and dense, rustling in the wind. Among the woods, clusters of stone forests occasionally emerge, rugged and uniquely shaped; one or two massive rocks sometimes jut out, resembling deities or beasts with striking lifelike appearances that amaze visitors. The shallow bay area of the Heavenly Candle Lake scenic zone also features recreational activities such as fishing spots and barbecue areas, offering a unique experience. Additionally, more than ten exquisitely built small bamboo huts are situated on low mountain slopes, providing resting places for visitors.
