Waipo Keng Village is located in Jingling Town, Xinchang County, at the junction of Shengzhou, Dongyang, and Pan’an. It is 45 kilometers from downtown Xinchang. The village has 158 households and 520 residents, representing 10 ethnic minorities including the Miao, Dai, and Bai.

Waipo Keng Village boasts a pristine natural environment, well-preserved traditional architecture, and distinctive ethnic customs. Strolling through the quaint and tidy village along winding paths, you’ll hear the murmuring stream and see emerald peaks rising on both sides, creating a serene and timeless landscape painting.

In recent years, Waipo Keng Village has vigorously developed rural leisure tourism. It has built attractions such as the Ethnic Culture Park, Red Footsteps Corridor, Ancient Village Heritage Memorial Hall, and Folk Museum. Leveraging its ethnic characteristics, the village has established a strong ethnic brand, carving out a unique agritourism path featuring ethnic culture, cuisine, and accommodation. It has transformed from being known as the “Number One Bachelor Village” to becoming a widely renowned “Ethnic Village in Southern China.” Currently, the village has six farmhouse inns with 400 seating capacity and 80 beds. A tourist distribution center is also under construction, which will significantly enhance its reception capacity.

Special Tips

Waipo Keng Village is the home of “Waipo Keng Dafo Longjing” tea. During spring, visitors can also experience the joy of tea picking in the fields.
