Sanjing Zhenjun Temple
Sanjing Zhenjun Temple is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Zhejiang Province.
Sanjing Zhenjun Temple is situated in the Wuling Mountain Valley between Dongtian Natural Village of Qiaoying Township and Qiaoxia Village. Originally called Wuling Mountain Temple and also known as Shizhenjun Temple, it was first constructed in the Ming Dynasty as a place to worship General Zong Ze, a famous Southern Song Dynasty general who fought against the Jin invaders. The temple is an important spiritual hub for local folk beliefs, embodying the villagers’ virtues of loyalty and reverence for martial prowess. It also serves as a key medium for promoting and disseminating patriotism. The entire architectural complex is grand in scale, featuring soaring eaves, intricately carved beams, and a layered, ascending layout. Its well-preserved structure and majestic presence make it one of the most intact ancient buildings in Xinchang.
