Huangyan Riverside Century Park

Huangyan Riverside Century Park (Binjiang Park) is a key component of the Huangyan Riverside Century Project. The park stretches from Waicaidong in the east to the Xijiang River in the west, borders Yongning River—the mother river of Huangyan—in the north, and faces the wide and scenic Binjiang (Century) Avenue in the south. It spans 1,500 meters in length, covers an area of 120 mu, and has a total investment of over 100 million yuan. The park broke ground on September 18, 2002, and was completed and opened to the public in January 2004.

Yongning Park features a modern and minimalist design, emphasizes ecology, and centers around water. It incorporates pavilions, green slopes, tree-lined areas, and bamboo groves along the water, integrating ecological protection, cultural appreciation, and leisure fitness within one park. It showcases a strong contemporary flair and local charm. The park is divided into two main zones: the Ecological Zone and the Landscape Zone. The Ecological Zone highlights natural elements, with green slopes, dense woods, riverside wetlands, boardwalks over flowing water, pebble beaches, cascading waterfalls, metasequoia tree arrays, and boxed landscapes that together create the zone’s natural scenery. Each scenic spot within the zone has a distinct style, offering powerful visual appeal and impact. The Landscape Zone mainly consists of modern and minimalist geometric architecture, featuring the themed sculpture "Creation" as well as attractions such as a crystal disco, Fisherman’s Wharf, and a waterfront platform.

The entire park primarily consists of eight major landscapes (zones): the Senior Citizens' Activity Area, the Orchid Exhibition Area, the Waterfront Activity Area, the Riverbank Scenic Area, the Famous Trees and Plants Appreciation Area, the Musical Water Scene Area, the Children’s Play Area, and the Cultural Sculptures. There are three park entrance plazas: the East Entrance Mist Spray Plaza, the Central Entrance Water Scene Plaza, and the West Entrance Children’s Plaza.

The park is characterized by its fountains, sculptures, and trees, and features attractions such as the grand and elegant Huangshi Rock Large Sculpture, the dazzling Large Musical Fountain, the spectacular 200-meter-long Musical Floating Fountain in the river, the magnificent and radiant Cannon Fountain in the river, the magical and colorful Mist Fountain, the Performance Plaza with its whimsical and varied Large Musical Dry Fountain, uniquely styled membrane pavilions, LED windmill lights that shimmer with radiance, steep yet graceful waterfall rockeries, elegant and refined waterfront platforms, lush and fragrant Tree Garden, winding paths through the Famous Trees Forest, the willow-shaded riverside road, pigeons flying under the sunset at the plaza, and the amusing Maze.
