On May 9, the much-watched KAILAS "China Climbing Discovery" team held a media event in Beijing, where the new team members were introduced collectively. "China Climbing Discovery" is an activity initiated by the professional outdoor brand KAILAS, involving a team of elite domestic and international climbers who search for and develop high-quality climbing routes in previously undiscovered rock climbing areas across China.

This year, the discovery team has grown even stronger, led by KAILAS climbers Xie Weicheng and Zhao Zhongjun, and joined by more top domestic climbers such as Zhang Xiaoliu, Qiu Jiang, Zhang Yong, Su Feng, Marcos, Li Lan, and Liefeng. At the media event, Zhao Zhongjun first introduced this year’s four climbing destinations—Fangshan in Beijing, Benxi in Liaoning, Leshan in Chengdu, and Shigu in Lijiang—along with the activity plans, and then engaged in discussion and interaction with the attending media alongside the other eight team members.

During the subsequent launch ceremony, representatives from the KAILAS brand and the discovery team together hammered a KAILAS bolt into a rock face, symbolizing a key step in the process of route development. This act also served as a good-luck gesture for the successful execution of the 2014 "China Climbing Discovery."

Through the "China Climbing Discovery" initiative, the KAILAS brand hopes to inspire more people to love and participate in climbing, allowing more climbers to experience the joy of ascending natural rock walls, and thereby promoting the development of climbing in China.
