The Shabu Celadon Kiln Site (Group) consists of seven protected kiln sites, namely Zhujialing Kiln Site, Fenghuangshan Kiln Site, Xiashantou Kiln Site, Yaotan Kiln Site, Jinji’ao Hall Kiln Site, Xiayu Kiln Site, and Waci Kiln Site.

Located in Shabu Town, Huangyan District, Taizhou City. The kiln sites are widely distributed, forming a kiln site group centered around the junction of Shabu, Yuanqiao, and Gaoqiao three townships (towns), including seven kiln sites. They feature rich cultural connotations, with products such as bowls, jars, pots, and plates. The bodies are sturdy, thin, and grayish-blue in color. The glaze is green or yellowish-green, with a lustrous sheen. Kiln tools include trumpet-shaped supports, spacer rings, and saggers. The majority of the porcelain pieces are decorated with floral patterns, such as phoenixes, parrots, peonies, chrysanthemums, lotuses, as well as cloud motifs, mat patterns, and leaf patterns—most are carved directly onto the clay body, while some designs were engraved on molds and then printed onto the objects.

The Huangyan Shabu Celadon Kiln Sites have a large distribution area and span a long historical period, showcasing significant kiln industry features and value. During the Southern Song Dynasty, Shabu celadon, serving as official and imperial kiln ware at the time, flourished greatly and was exported overseas via rivers to Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asian regions.

In 2019, the Shabu Kiln Site was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Shabu Town: Shabu Town is located in the southwest of eastern Huangyan, covering an area of 44.03 square kilometers. It was formed by merging the former Shabu and Foling townships, with the original Foling Township being an area described as “eight parts mountain, half part water, and half part field,” where all 11 of its villages were classified as poor villages. By the end of 2007, the town had a total population of 23,154, governing 33 administrative villages, with 8,826 mu of arable land and 56,000 mu of forested land. Shabu enjoys a favorable geographical location, being 11.2 kilometers from the main urban area of Huangyan and 3 kilometers from the Taizhou South Exit of the Yongtaiwen Expressway.
