The Pingtian Tongshukeng Revolutionary Memorial Hall is located in Tongshukeng Village, Pingtian Township, Huangyan District, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province.

In May 1938, Lin Sizhai, Secretary of the Huangyan County Committee of the CPC, went to Tongshukeng, situated at the border between Huangyan and Yueqing at an altitude of over 400 meters, and established the township’s first Party branch. In September 1939, the CPC Taizhou Regional Special Committee set up the Kuocang-Yandang Working Committee in Tongshukeng to lead the Party organizations in the area and its vicinity. In November 1942, following instructions from the Central China Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, key cadres of the Taizhou region and exposed Party members were withdrawn to the Shaoxing Eastern Anti-Japanese Base in Siming Mountain. The headquarters of the CPC Taizhou Regional Special Committee also evacuated from Tongshukeng. During this period, the Tongshukeng Party branch actively organized local Party members and residents to undertake vital support tasks such as logistics and communication for higher-level Party organs, ensuring the safety of all visiting cadres. Additionally, the branch united and led the masses in anti-Japanese salvation activities, organizing peasant associations, carrying out rent reduction struggles, suppressing local tyrants, and taking control of grassroots political power, turning this mountainous region into an important revolutionary base. The Tongshukeng Party branch was hailed as a “strong fortress of struggle on the high mountains.”

In the early stages of the Liberation War, the Yongle-Huang Border District Committee under the Kuocang Central County Committee of the CPC, along with the First Company of the Kuocang Detachment of the Southern Zhejiang Guerrilla Column, used Tongshukeng as their base. They gradually advanced toward the plains and established a guerrilla base in the southwestern part of Huangyan, forming a rural encirclement of the county town, which paved the way for the liberation of Huangyan.

The Pingtian Tongshukeng Revolutionary Memorial Hall is a two-story wooden structure built in an antique style, with a total construction area of 518 square meters and a main building covering 286 square meters. It includes historical exhibition rooms, a memorial monument, and a memorial pavilion. The memorial hall was completed and opened to the public in June 1999, and reopened after renovation in July 2006. The hall displays nearly 100 historical photos and a large amount of textual material, comprehensively introducing the revolutionary activities and struggles of the Tongshukeng masses under the leadership of the CPC Taizhou Regional Special Committee and the Tongshukeng Party branch.

In December 2007, the Pingtian Tongshukeng Revolutionary Memorial Hall was designated as a Zhejiang Provincial Patriotic Education Base by the Publicity Department of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee.
