Peach Blossom Spring at Dawn

Located in Taoyuan Gully, northwest of Shangbaoxiang Village, about 13 kilometers northwest of Tiantai County. This is a deep and rugged valley where the stream winds along the mountain contours, flanked by jagged cliffs resembling an embroidered screen. Amidst the landscape are emerald pools and snow-white waterfalls—this is Peach Blossom Cove.

The area is most famed for its Twin Maidens Peak. The Northern Song Dynasty writer Zheng Zhidao first mentioned it in his “Record of the Liu-Ruan Cave”: “The eastern peak rises steeply and towers majestically, with a unique and striking form. At its summit are two rocks resembling tightly coiled hair buns, hence the name: Twin Maidens Peak.”

Following the stream upward, where the green waters spread like pleated silk, you can see scenic spots such as the “Fairy’s Bath Basin,” “Old Dragon Spouting Water,” Swallowtail Waterfall, Fairy Stone, Bewitching Fairy Cove, Immortals’ Meeting Stone, Immortal’s Cave, Melancholy Stream, Jingyu Ravine, and Golden Bridge Pool.

Among these, starting from Molingtou Village and descending southwestward, you can climb over the cliffs between two mountains and scale a long ladder to reach the “Peach Blossom Cave.” Nearby there is a flat area. From there, looking north, you can take in the entire expanse of the Peach Blossom Mountain streams.
