As a continental cold air mass moves southward, temperatures in northern and northeastern Taiwan are gradually falling, ranging between 14–18°C, while central areas remain around 19–23°C. On Tuesday, daytime and nighttime lows north of Hsinchu will dip to 14°C—stay warm. On December 4–5, scattered showers are expected in northern and eastern Taiwan, especially in Yilan and Hualien, which will see rain nearly all week. Other areas, as well as Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu, will be mostly cloudy to sunny.

Temperatures will continue to drop slightly during the week, with the lowest temperatures in areas north of central Taiwan. On Friday, December 8, rain is expected in counties and cities north of Miaoli. From Friday, December 8, through Sunday, northeastern and eastern regions including Keelung, Yilan, Hualien, and Taitung will experience rainy weather. Those planning to visit Kinmen or Penghu this weekend should pack warm clothing—the temperature will be around 15°C, with Kinmen seeing even lower lows of around 12°C.

After Monday, as the northeast monsoon strengthens, pollutants from outside China will drift into Taiwan. On December 6, a high-pressure rebound will occur, causing haze from China to intensify again, potentially leading to the third wave of red air pollution alerts this autumn. Stay alert to air quality conditions, limit outdoor activities, and wear a mask whenever possible.
