Houtan Rural Tourism Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Houtan Village is located in Jietou Town, Tiantai County, Zhejiang Province. The village boasts famous attractions such as the Ten-Mile Iron Dragon, Sunset at Cold Cliff, Historic Rock Temples, and the Eastern Sea Fisherman’s Notes. Among them, the Ten-Mile Iron Dragon consists of dozens of massive natural rock formations arranged in a row, presenting a grand and visually striking spectacle; at the foot of the mountain, in spring, vast peach blossom forests stretch as far as the eye can see, with willows drooping over the riverbanks and clear waves rippling, creating an otherworldly paradise-like scene. On sunny days, the wide-open views are refreshing to the spirit, while on rainy days, the misty clouds lend an ethereal, fairy-tale ambiance. This area was also the hermitage of Hanshan, the poet-monk and one of the “Twin Immortals of Harmony” from the Tang Dynasty.
