Beijing Sightseeing Pumpkin Park is located in Yujia Township, Tongzhou District, just over 1,000 meters from the Yujia exit of the Beijing-Tianjin Second Expressway and only 5 kilometers from the Caiyu exit of the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Expressway, offering convenient transportation. The park fully utilizes existing natural resources to highlight the characteristics of agricultural sightseeing and leisure. With agriculture-based leisure as its theme, Beijing Sightseeing Pumpkin Park covers an area of 500 acres and is a comprehensive ecological sightseeing park integrating pumpkin viewing, leisure entertainment, science education, and dining banquets.

Park Features

The park features a 12,000-square-meter pumpkin variety exhibition greenhouse, uniquely designed with landscapes surrounded by mountains and water. It includes a pumpkin exhibition corridor showcasing over 280 varieties, a Pumpkin Halloween Square, a Pumpkin Sculpture Square, vegetable science cultivation areas, an under-construction Dream Science Museum, and various uniquely shaped ornamental pumpkins, giving visitors the feeling of entering a fairytale art world of pumpkins. The greenhouses maintain spring-like weather year-round with a pleasant climate. The park has 20 solar greenhouses where visitors can experience farming vegetables and fruits. By balancing development and conservation, the park employs ecological principles for vertical planting, creating resource recycling and a positive ecological cycle. The picking garden specially hires experienced horticulturists to manage crops, allowing visitors to enjoy the joy and satisfaction of harvest during picking. Varieties available for picking include: various pumpkins, strawberries, blueberries, cherries, apricots, peaches, plums, jujubes, watermelons, some southern fruits, and specialty vegetables.

Additionally, the park offers accommodations, a children’s playground, table tennis rooms, tennis courts, badminton courts, billiard rooms, and a professional karaoke room for fitness and entertainment. There is also an eco-friendly restaurant that can accommodate 500 diners at once. Pumpkins contain starch, protein, carotene, vitamins B and C, amino acids, active proteins, lipids, calcium, phosphorus, and other components. They not only have high nutritional value but also offer notable health benefits such as nourishing lungs and boosting energy, resolving phlegm and draining pus, expelling parasites and detoxifying, treating coughs and asthma, healing lung abscesses and constipation, and promoting diuresis and beauty. In recent years, research by medical experts both domestically and internationally has shown that eating pumpkins can also treat prostate enlargement, prevent prostate cancer, prevent arteriosclerosis and gastric mucosal ulcers, and especially help treat diabetes and dissolve stones. Park researchers have fully utilized these nutritional and therapeutic values of pumpkins to develop a series of health-preserving pumpkin dishes, such as pumpkin juice, pumpkin rice, pumpkin soup, pumpkin candy, and pumpkin health soup. Major Events

Since its opening on July 19, 2008, the park has successfully hosted several large-scale events, such as the opening ceremony, Halloween carnival, and Christmas parties, as well as organizing several wedding banquets and conferences.

Park Development

The planning and design of the Pumpkin Park fully considered foundational conditions, resource environments, and industrial development environments. As a result, after project implementation, its advantages in product market competitiveness and technological content will be significantly evident. It now plays an important demonstrative role in the development of modern agriculture in Tongzhou District and even the suburban areas of Beijing, while also prominently driving agricultural industrial restructuring, increasing farmers’ income, and creating more employment opportunities. To date, Beijing Sightseeing Pumpkin Park has received over 44,000 visitors, generating direct revenue of 7,160,000 yuan, with no complaints received. The establishment of the Pumpkin Park has led nearby villages to cultivate over 2,000 acres of open-field pumpkins, organized and established the Beijing Dongsheng Fumin Pumpkin Professional Cooperative, solved farmers’ employment and product sales issues, and increased per capita income by 2,000 yuan. The park employs 240 people, 200 of whom are local farmers.

Yujia Hui Ethnic Township: Yujia Hui Ethnic Township is located in the southern part of Tongzhou District, bordering Yongledian Town to the east and Daxing District’s Caiyu Town to the west and south. It is adjacent to the Caiyu exit of the Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Expressway and is 19 kilometers from Tongzhou New Town. It is the only ethnic minority township in Tongzhou District and one of the five in Beijing.
