The Daqi Radio and Movie Museum

For those born before the 1990s, radios and movie projectors were not unfamiliar — they were two traditional mediums through which we learned about the outside world. But today, with the continuous emergence of technological products such as televisions, computer networks, and mobile phones, radios and movie projectors have fallen out of use. Due to limitations in preservation and maintenance, most of these devices have been dismantled and discarded as scrap. As enthusiasts of radios and movie projectors, we feel a responsibility to preserve this history and present it in physical form. To that end, it took us nearly ten years to collect over 3,000 various radios and movie projectors, along with related items, from different categories, eras, and countries. On August 25, 2011, construction began at "Xiaopu Village, Songzhuang Town, Tongzhou District" — a world-renowned artist village. On December 7, 2011, the main structure of the museum was successfully topped out.
