The Memorial Archway of the Zhan Brothers, Imperial Examination Scholars, is located on Xiamajie Street in the eastern part of Songyang County. Built in the ninth year of the Hongzhi reign during the Ming Dynasty (1496), it was erected in honor of the Zhan brothers—Zhan Yu, who passed the imperial examination in the Bingxu year of the Chenghua reign, and Zhan Bao, who passed in the Bingchen year of the Hongzhi reign. Carved from bluestone and designed to imitate wooden architecture, the structure features four pillars and three bays, with a stone tower and a hip-and-gable roof. The archway stands 8.52 meters tall and is 6.9 meters wide, with the inscriptions “Brother Scholars” and “Father and Son, Virtuous Examination Achievers” engraved in intaglio on the two sides of the plaque. The archway boasts a grand structure and exquisite craftsmanship, and is a provincial-level cultural heritage site.
