One of the largest tea trading markets in Zhejiang Province

Zhejiang South Tea Market is situated in Songyang County, Lishui City — a national-level ecological demonstration zone, China’s hometown of famous teas, and Zhejiang’s cradle of high-quality tea varieties. Established in early 1993, the market has relocated four times due to the growing scale of tea transactions. It covers a planned area of 54,000 square meters, divided into three sections: Phase I and Phase II of the trading area, and the logistics center. By the end of 2008, the 30,000-square-meter trading area and the 26,000-square-meter logistics center were fully operational. In 2009, the market handled 42,000 tons of tea with a transaction value of 1.24 billion yuan, maintaining its position as the province’s top market in both volume and value for several consecutive years. In 2001, it was officially renamed “Zhejiang South Tea Market” with approval from the provincial administration for industry and commerce. In December 2008, it was designated as an “Official Market of the Ministry of Agriculture.”
