Zhuyuan Gorge is only 14 kilometers from downtown Songyang and is located in Panjing Village, Zhuyuan Township, Songyang, making it easily accessible. The gorge is famed for being “beautiful, wondrous, and rugged,” and is an undeveloped area rich in potential. It features numerous waterfalls, with continuous mountain ranges and overlapping peaks that create a magnificent and imposing landscape. The mountains are dotted with verdant ancient trees and dense bamboo forests. Zhuyuan Gorge is a deep and serene valley, with its main stream stretching over 2,800 meters. Within the main stream, there are more than 20 large and small waterfalls, seven of which are over 10 meters high, including one that reaches over 30 meters. Each waterfall cascades in unique forms and postures, resembling flowing silk ribbons, while the secluded pools shine like jade.

Zhuyuan Gorge is abundant in flora and fauna. Protected wildlife under national conservation includes black muntjac, pangolins, owls, and leopards. Among the plants, there are precious tree species under national protection such as Phoebe chekiangensis, camphor trees, metasequoia, and magnolia officinalis. The gorge also contains thousands of acres of well-cultivated bamboo forests by local farmers, creating an expansive and spectacular sea of bamboo.
