Shipancun Vernacular Architecture

The Shipancun Vernacular Architecture is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Zhejiang Province.

The Shipancun Vernacular Architecture is located in Shipancun Villages 6 and 7, Shanbian, and other areas of Dadongba Town, Songyang County. It is a large-scale composite architectural complex continuously expanded and built by the Qu clan who migrated to Shipancun during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. It serves as an important physical example for studying the evolution and periodization of local residential architecture, and has high reference value for understanding ancient residential construction techniques in southwestern Zhejiang.

Dadongba Town: (1) Location and Area: The seat of the Dadongba Town People’s Government is in Dadongba Village, located 22 kilometers southwest of Songyang County. It borders Xiangxi Town to the east, Yunhe County to the south, Yuyan Town to the west, and Xiping Town to the north. The town covers an administrative area of 206 square kilometers, with existing forested land spanning 19,047 hectares and cultivated land covering 520.2 hectares.
