The Three Temples of Songyang

The Three Temples of Songyang are designated as a Cultural Relics Protection Unit of Zhejiang Province.

The Three Temples of Songyang: the Confucian Temple, the City God Temple, and the Martial Temple (Tanglan Guildhall)

Confucian Temple: Built during the Qing Dynasty, the existing structure features a traditional quadrangle courtyard layout with two courtyards and two side wings. Most of the wooden components remain in their original state. Inside, there is a stone stele titled “Stele on the Reconstruction of the Confucian School in Songyang,” which holds significant cultural and historical value.

City God Temple: Built during the Qing Dynasty, the existing structures extend from south to north in sequence, comprising the main hall, rear sleeping quarters, side rooms, and rear building. The overall layout and beam-frame structure have been preserved in their original form, featuring exquisite craftsmanship and detailed carvings, all of which contribute to their high cultural and historical value.

Martial Temple (Tanglan Guildhall): Constructed in the 14th year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty, the central axis includes an elaborately carved brick screen wall with a traditional eight-character design, front hall, covered walkway, side rooms, and rear hall. The wooden carvings are exquisitely detailed, the layout is neat and orderly, the beam-frame structure is well-preserved, and the artistic wooden carvings are intact. This site holds considerable historical, scientific, and artistic value.
