Tiger Victory Strange Rock

Tiger Victory Strange Rock is located several hundred meters from the head of the village. Towering and precipitous, it stands like a crouching tiger in the mountain. Surrounding it are the “Sky Lantern Rock,” which seems ready to soar into the air, the exquisitely lifelike “Boat Rock,” the incredibly sharp “Blade Rock,” and the startling “Coffin Rock.” The area features a variety of bizarrely shaped rocks, each with a unique landscape. When clouds and mist roll in, the rocks appear and disappear intermittently, resembling a fairyland. A clear spring seeps out from a crevice in the rock, and on the cliff wall there is something resembling “heavenly script” akin to oracle bone inscriptions. Whether this “heavenly script” was carved by ancient people or formed naturally remains to be further studied. However, local legend says, “Whoever can decipher this heavenly script will find the treasure cave door opening on its own.” There is indeed a stone cave on the cliff that looks like a door. Most remarkably, at the base of the “Sky Lantern Rock” cliff wall, there is a cave with seven-colored stones on its ceiling that resemble dragon scales. When hit by strong light, they shimmer in rainbow hues, as if a colorful dragon were perched there, evoking awe at nature’s wondrous craftsmanship. Below the cliff wall lies a narrow crevice known as a “one-line sky,” through which one can glimpse the mountaintop. It is just wide enough for a person to crawl through and serves as the only path up the mountain. The mountain is home to precious wild Dendrobium officinale. The area is shaded by lush trees and surrounded by green bamboo, especially in spring when the hillsides are ablaze with blooming winter jasmine, creating a fiery red spectacle that feels like stepping into a fairyland and leaves visitors enchanted. “Since ancient times, famous mountains have often been home to monks,” and Tiger Victory Strange Rock is no exception. Beneath the cliff wall is a Taoist temple enshrining the statue of Laozi, with incense smoke lingering year-round. Halfway down the rock slope, there is also a hexagonal pavilion for visitors to rest.
