The high-altitude fireworks show at the authentic Luermen Mazu Temple in Annan District, Tainan, draws many visitors who want to watch and photograph the fireworks. To celebrate the Lantern Festival on February 16, the “Spring Ox Welcoming” fireworks and folk series events are held, blending local characteristics with a cultural and creative market to create a festive New Year atmosphere.

The folk culture series activities related to the Spring Ox Welcoming, Spring Ox Whipping, Spring Ox Competition, Beehive Firecracker Blasting, and high-altitude fireworks show at the authentic Luermen Mazu Temple in Tucheng, Annan District, have been held for over 30 years. They are widely recognized for their uniqueness and cultural significance, making them well worth watching and experiencing.
The 2019 Tainan Luermen International High-Altitude Fireworks were spectacular, attracting a large number of photography enthusiasts who arrived early to stake out spots around the temple area with tripods, sparking discussions and online buzz. This situation also prompted organizers to seek ways to manage and advise attendees.
When watching the beehive firecrackers and fireworks, pay special attention to your clothing—wear protective gear and protect your eyes. There will be traffic control on the day of the event, which must also be obeyed.

High-Speed Rail
Exit at Tainan Station and transfer to the Taiwan Railways Shaline Line to Tainan Railway Station. Exit from the front station and walk straight about 50 meters to reach the destination. Alternatively, take the 99 Taijiang Line and get off at the authentic Luermen Mazu Temple stop.
Taiwan Railways
Arrive at Tainan Railway Station and then transfer to a taxi or Taiwan Tourist Shuttle.
Bus
Taiwan Tourist Shuttle, which can be taken from the front exit of Tainan Railway Station, walk straight about 50 meters to reach the destination. Choose the 99 Taijiang Line and get off at the authentic Luermen Mazu Temple stop.
Take bus No. 3 or 7 from Tainan Railway Station, get off at Haodong Elementary School, then transfer to bus No. 11 or Blue 24, and get off at the Mazu Temple stop.
Self-Drive
Tainan Railway Station → Zhongshan Road → Minsheng Road → Zhonghua North Road → Anming Road Sections 1-4 → Connect to Anzhong Road → Then you will arrive.
