Five Major Amusement Parks Celebrate New Year’s Day with Discounts & Taiwan’s Longest Fireworks Show

Have you decided where to go for New Year’s Eve? This year, New Year’s Day falls on a weekend, giving you a four-day holiday. Staying home after the countdown would be way too boring. This year, amusement parks are capitalizing on the holiday rush, offering exciting countdown events and discounts. Among them, this year Janfusun Fancyworld is launching a 610-second fireworks show—the longest in Taiwan—to ring in 2015 with everyone.

This year, Janfusun Fancyworld has created six “Taiwan-exclusive” highlights for its New Year’s Eve celebration: The first highlight is a 610-second fireworks display, the longest in Taiwan. The second is the only fireworks show in Taiwan using a Ferris wheel device to present a 360-degree aerial hanging fireworks spectacle, which, together with Taiwan’s highest-altitude Ferris wheel, creates a “double-ring fireworks” effect—the third highlight. Additionally, it features Taiwan’s only 4D magic laser show to count down dynamically—the fourth highlight. The fifth highlight includes an 88-meter Ferris wheel and a 65-meter Sky Shuttle launching classic fireworks, while the sixth is a “sheep” character fireworks display symbolizing blessings, lighting up the sky brilliantly and leading Taiwan into a hopeful new year.

As we countdown to 2015, the “2015 Purple Shine E-DA New Year’s Eve Party” has invited diva Jolin Tsai and Hebe Tian to close the show. The much-anticipated fireworks display is also a major draw. This year’s fireworks will be launched in three phases: a 15-second warm-up show at the start, followed by a one-minute blessing fireworks display before the countdown, accompanied by the hopeful song “What A Wonderful World,” bidding farewell to 2014 and welcoming 2015 with the people of Taiwan. To celebrate the four-day New Year’s holiday, E-DA World is offering a special deal: children aged 12 and under can enter for just NT$1 during the four-day break.

Formerly Leofoo Village Safari Park, it expanded into a theme park starting in 1989 and officially launched the “Leofoo Water Park” in 2012, becoming a water-and-land combo amusement park. For the New Year’s holiday countdown, Leofoo Village is offering a limited-time promotion called the “Animal Discount Wheel,” where entry starts as low as NT$10 and goes up to just NT$600—equivalent to a 60% discount.
