Mandarin Ducks Wells

The Mandarin Ducks Wells are located on a misty, densely forested mountain on the northern side of Yinping Mountain, at an altitude of over 1,000 meters, more than ten li of mountain path away from the village. Covering an area of over 50 square meters, the wells are roughly triangular in shape, with smooth walls and unfathomable depths. The water in the wells never dries up year-round. It is said that they were left behind from ancient mining activities. There are also several mine pits hidden within the mountains, concealed by vines and overgrown vegetation, and rarely visited by humans. These ancient mine pits are now submerged within the towering mountains, surrounded by overlapping ridges, continuous peaks, and ancient trees that reach to the sky—making it a great destination for sightseeing and exploration. The mountain area is abundant in porcini mushrooms, which are hailed as the “king of mountain delicacies” and the “king of edible fungi.” If the timing is right, besides exploring the scenic wonders, you can also harvest the delicious treasures of the mountains—“porcini mushrooms.”
