The Former Site of the Red Army Advancing Division's Zhailang Battle Command Post is a classic red tourism destination and a patriotic education base.

The “Former Site of the Red Army Advancing Division’s Zhailang Battle” is located in Zhailang Village, Baisanzhu Town, at the junction of Qingyuan County, Jingning County, and Longquan City in the northeastern part of Qingyuan County. It sits on the northeastern side of Zhailang Village, covering an area of 509.45 square meters with 72 rooms spread across two floors (upper and lower), and has a total built-up area of 958.9 square meters. As time has passed, the original “Former Site of the Zhailang Battle Red Army Command Post” faced the risk of collapse due to years of disrepair. Between 2003 and 2006, through multi-party support, the command post site was restored to its original appearance. From 2010 to 2012, a total of 303,000 yuan was invested over three years for the repair and maintenance of the command post. In 2012, the County Archives Bureau erected three revolutionary site protection steles at the Zhailang Battle site cluster, located respectively at Shuikou, Aotouyu, and Muniuchang. Up to now, the Zhailang Battle site has completed the construction of a 240-meter Red Army Road, the building of a Red Army Memorial Pavilion, and the greening of Red Army Ridge. These projects have recreated the grand scenes of what General Su Yu called “a crucial battle,” and have also injected new vitality into the development of Zhailang as a red tourism village. In recent years, the base has adopted various methods and forms to continuously expand educational content, integrate educational resources, and highlight the theme of “Embark on a Red Journey, Promote National Integrity,” providing patriotic education to the general public. Since its opening on June 28, 2004, it has received over 90,000 visitors who came to pay tribute to the battle sites of revolutionary martyrs and receive patriotic education. Especially during the months of May, June, and July each year, focused activities such as red education programs for youths, July 1st patriotic education events, and Party membership oath ceremonies for Party members are carried out. These help youths and Party members establish correct outlooks on life, making the base a commemorative site for martyrs, an ideal-building hub, and a second classroom. At the same time, a variety of distinctive and theme-focused promotional activities have received unanimous praise from participants and sparked strong reactions in society.
